Job description
The Security & BCM Lead at DHL Supply Chain in Dubai is responsible for adapting and coordinating the implementation of DSC Regional Security & BCM policies and standards within the UAE. The role focuses on delivering fundamental Security & BCM objectives, including the protection of people, physical and customer assets, sensitive internal information, and public reputation. The position aims to reduce risk exposure through the implementation of unified DHL Security & BCM standards by risk classification and audits across the country. Responsibilities include developing and implementing country-specific Security & BCM standards, policies, and programs in line with regional and global frameworks; managing, reviewing, and investigating Security & BCM related incidents; ensuring the rollout of risk assessment, audit, and training programs; maintaining budgets and Loss & Recovery statements; and ensuring customer value through optimized Security & BCM performance. The role also involves achieving DPDHL Security & BCM standards, reducing losses and security incidents, identifying risk levels and gaps, ensuring cost efficiency, and promoting Security & BCM as a business differentiator. Stakeholder engagement includes managing customer complaints, advising local customers on Security & BCM issues, providing support to regional Security & BCM management, developing relationships with law enforcement and regulatory bodies, and maintaining relationships with internal site management and operations personnel. Process responsibilities encompass documenting and implementing Security & BCM processes and procedures, maintaining program integrity across the cluster, initiating security incident reporting and investigation, implementing standards with subcontractors and new projects, assisting in the procurement of technical security equipment, and developing and maintaining evacuation plans. People management duties involve ensuring team understanding of Security & BCM policies and procedures, communicating department strategy and priorities, supporting continuous development of team members, and developing and supporting country Security Nominees/BCM Champions roles.

- Develop and implement country-specific Security & BCM standards, policies, and programs in line with regional and global frameworks
- Manage, review, and investigate Security & BCM related incidents within the area of responsibility
- Report metrics, trends, and root causes of Security & BCM incidents to line and management
- Ensure the rollout of risk assessment, audit, and training programs across the country
- Maintain a holistic view of costs and ensure cost transparency to the business
- Maintain budgets and Loss & Recovery statements
- Ensure customer value through optimized Security & BCM performance
- Achieve DPDHL Security & BCM standards and secure cooperation of DSC country management for successful rollout
- Reduce losses, security incidents, and security-related claims
- Identify Security & BCM risk levels and gaps and report corrective action progress
- Ensure cost efficiency and resource optimization
- Promote Security & BCM as a business differentiator through positive customer feedback
- Manage customer complaints regarding security incidents and BCM concerns
- Assist and advise local customers on Security & BCM issues and measures
- Provide Security & BCM advice and assistance to country sales and business management
- Support regional Security & BCM management and local Nominees/Champions
- Provide monthly metrics on Security & BCM events, programs, and projects to management
- Develop relationships with law enforcement and legal and regulatory bodies
- Develop and maintain relationships with site management and operations personnel in the area of Security & BCM
- Develop relationships with country management to promote Security & BCM as added value
- Develop relationships with other BU security management and Regional, Global teams
- Maintain relations with the sales organization
- Document and implement Security & BCM processes and procedures; maintain program integrity across the cluster
- Activate risk classification, assessment, and audit programs for the country
- Implement Security & BCM awareness and training programs
- Initiate security incident reporting, investigation, and trending
- Implement Security & BCM standards with subcontractors and new projects
- Assist in the installation and procurement of technical security equipment for upgrades and new builds
- Develop and maintain evacuation plans for the cluster; train and maintain awareness with plan participants
- Ensure team understanding of Security & BCM policies and procedures, including evacuation planning
- Communicate department strategy, direction, and priorities to the team
- Support continuous development of team members
- Support Region and/or Cluster Head of Security & BCM on specific and project requirements and IKO completion
- Develop, maintain, and support country Security Nominees/BCM Champions roles
Experience & skills
- Minimum 3ā5 years of experience in multi-country security management, with at least 1ā2 years in the logistics field
- Preference for a minimum of 2 years within supply chain, logistics, or transportation security (experience within the Oil & Gas industry preferred)
- Preference for at least 1 year of experience or knowledge in-country/region
- Relevant academic qualifications (BA/BSc level or higher) in Security, Criminology, Risk Management/Analysis, Business Continuity, or other relevant subject
- Relevant certification in Security from professional bodies (Oil & Gas industry preferred)
- BCM Certification from a recognized industry body such as CBCI, BTEC, or equivalent is highly advantageous
