Job description
The Talent Manager (Staffing / Resource Management) for Oliver Wymanâs IMEA region is responsible for leading and managing the staffing and talent management of consultants across India, Middle East, and Africa. This role involves independently staffing consultants from Associate to Principal levels, partnering closely with Industry Heads, Office and Market Leads to secure buy-in and align staffing strategies with project pipelines. The position requires building a strong understanding of consultant capabilities, career aspirations, and development needs to optimize staffing and support professional growth. Collaboration with other Talent Managers and HC Operations is essential for workforce planning, performance management, and addressing strategic talent priorities. The role also oversees the maintenance of accurate resource planning data, reporting trends on utilization and staffing, and ensuring timely updates in systems such as Certinia. A key focus is on performance management, supporting mid-year and year-end review processes, engaging in calibration discussions, and partnering with career advisors to facilitate career planning. Additionally, the Talent Manager is responsible for monitoring consultant wellbeing, work-life balance, and engagement, and for advising business leaders on HR-related strategy, all within a fast-paced, dynamic consulting environment with diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
- Independently staff consultants (AssociatesâPrincipals) across IMEA practices, securing buy-in from Industry Heads and leadership
- Run regular meetings with Industry Heads, Office, and Market Leads to review staffing options and project needs
- Understand consultant performance, skills, and development goals to facilitate smooth staffing and career progression
- Collaborate with other Talent Managers within IMEA and across regions to resolve staffing, development, and business issues
- Build strong relationships with consultants to understand professional goals, development needs, and work-life balance
- Partner with business stakeholders on strategic priorities including practice pyramid, utilization, and staffing process optimization
- Collaborate with Performance Management to identify training and development needs based on review outcomes
- Coordinate with HC Operations to manage consultant-related human capital topics including starters, leavers, and time-off
- Participate in mid-year and year-end performance review cycles, facilitating calibration and ensuring consistent quality
- Analyze and interpret staffing, utilization, and resource planning reports to identify trends and recommend actions
- Maintain accurate resource planning data in Certinia, ensuring updates for starters, leavers, training, and time-off
- Contribute to the Timesheet Variance process and provide insights for capacity and workforce planning
- Provide strategic guidance on HR and talent-related matters to business leaders
- Train and coach consultants on career planning and effective engagement with performance processes
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in any relevant field
- 5+ years of professional experience in talent management, staffing, or resource management in a fast-paced client services environment
- Prior experience in management consulting or Big 4 consulting preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate changing business priorities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide strategic HR guidance and build trusted relationships with stakeholders
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating with teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and resource management systems
- Experience in data analysis and reporting to support workforce planning and talent management decisions
- Ability to manage consultant wellbeing, engagement, and career development initiatives effectively
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in reporting and data management
- Flexible and willing to take on tasks outside of standard responsibilities in a dynamic environment
