Job description
The Commissioning Engineer for Oil Fields in Abu Dhabi is responsible for delivering expert testing and commissioning of Siemens Transformers, Switchgears NXAIR, 8DA10, Sivacon S8, and associated protection systems in oil & gas projects. The role involves providing advanced technical support, acting as the on-site technical representative, coordinating and verifying testing results, updating site documentation, and closing out open points. The engineer ensures timely execution of testing and commissioning to meet customer-specific requirements in O&G and petrochemical industries. Responsibilities include independently handling complex technical issues, mentoring junior engineers, maintaining detailed service records and test reports, staying current with Siemens products and industry trends, assessing and managing on-site risks, and ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, quality benchmarks, and EHS guidelines. The position requires willingness to work on rotational basis, including onshore and offshore environments, with 12-hour shifts 7 days a week, and unrestricted mobility.

Key responsibilities
- Perform testing and commissioning of Siemens Transformers, NXAIR, 8DA10, Sivacon S8, and protection systems on oil & gas projects.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for Siemens distribution systems.
- Act as on-site technical representative for Siemens, leading end-to-end commissioning processes.
- Coordinate testing results, update site-specific documentation, and close out any open points.
- Collaborate with customer teams to achieve timely testing and commissioning and ensure acceptance of works.
- Independently handle complex technical issues and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities and prepare comprehensive test reports.
- Assess and manage on-site risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, quality, and EHS guidelines.
- Stay current on Siemens products and industry trends through ongoing training and professional development.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, high voltage engineering or a related subject.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Commissioning Engineer in oil & gas projects.
- Expert level knowledge of Siemens MV and LV products and power applications.
- Commissioning training certifications for Siemens Transformers, NXAIR, 8DA10, Sivacon S8, and protection systems preferred.
- Intercultural experience gained by working in the Middle East.
- Ability to perform testing works safely, on time, and with high quality and effective planning.
- Medical fitness to work in challenging onshore/offshore environments.
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and time-management skills.
