Job description
The Senior Director – District Cooling at Qiddiya Investment Company is responsible for leading the strategic vision, design, and implementation of district cooling systems across Qiddiya’s developments. This leadership role ensures district cooling operations achieve high standards of sustainability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The incumbent will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage large-scale HVAC and district cooling projects, conduct market analyses and feasibility studies, and ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and sustainability practices. Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement with governmental agencies, utility providers, contractors, and technical consultants, monitoring and analyzing system performance, identifying optimization opportunities, developing policies and procedures, and reporting project status and performance metrics to senior management. The role requires staying current with industry advancements, driving innovation in district cooling and energy management, and applying expertise to improve operational reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for district cooling systems in alignment with Qiddiya’s environmental and operational objectives
- Oversee the design, engineering, and construction of district cooling infrastructure, ensuring projects meet timeline, budget, and quality requirements
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure efficient operations, project execution, and knowledge transfer across projects
- Conduct market analyses and feasibility studies to evaluate new district cooling projects, innovations, and emerging technologies
- Ensure all systems comply with local codes, regulations, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability practices throughout their lifecycle
- Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including governmental agencies, utility providers, contractors, and technical consultants to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, identify optimization opportunities, reduce operational costs, and enhance service reliability
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve system reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational performance
- Prepare and present reports on project status, performance metrics, and recommended improvement strategies to senior management
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in district cooling and energy management to drive innovation and operational excellence
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred
- Have 15+ years of experience designing, managing, and executing district cooling systems or large-scale HVAC projects
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills with proven experience leading complex engineering projects
- Exhibit in-depth knowledge of energy efficiency regulations, sustainability practices, and industry standards
- Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on innovation, optimization, and performance improvement
- Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management software and tools to ensure optimal planning, execution, and monitoring
- Experience preparing reports, analyzing system performance metrics, and developing policies to enhance operational reliability and customer satisfaction
- Ability to oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate large-scale projects from design through execution
- Proven track record of implementing cost-effective solutions and driving operational excellence in district cooling or related engineering domains
