The Senior Associate β ERS Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) β Legal & Regulatory Compliance role is responsible for supporting the delivery of legal and regulatory compliance advisory engagements across multiple sectors and jurisdictions in the United Arab Emirates. The position operates within a Governance, Risk & Compliance advisory environment and requires a strong legal foundation combined with practical experience in interpreting and applying UAE laws and regulations within a business advisory context. The role focuses on conducting detailed legal and regulatory research using LexisNexis and other legal research databases to identify applicable legislation, regulatory guidance, and supervisory requirements affecting client operations. The professional is responsible for identifying regulatory obligations across industries and jurisdictions, assessing the applicability of laws and regulatory frameworks, and supporting clients in aligning their governance, risk, and compliance practices with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The role contributes to regulatory compliance reviews, compliance gap assessments, and compliance maturity assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of client compliance programs. Responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of legal and compliance frameworks, compliance policies and procedures, and internal controls aligned with regulatory obligations. The professional assists in drafting high-quality compliance reports, regulatory findings, and risk assessment deliverables that provide clear, practical recommendations for improving regulatory compliance programs. The role also supports the execution of legal and compliance audits by performing documentation reviews, control testing, and audit reporting. Additionally, the professional analyzes regulatory developments and evaluates their impact on business models, operational processes, and compliance frameworks. The role includes preparation of regulatory obligation registers and the establishment of compliance monitoring frameworks that support ongoing compliance management. The position also requires participation in client workshops, meetings, and interviews to gather information, validate findings, and support engagement delivery. The professional works in an advisory environment that may involve collaboration with consulting teams and interaction with regulators and compliance stakeholders. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks issued by UAE regulatory authorities such as the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) within Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), and Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) is considered beneficial. The role requires strong legal drafting and report-writing capabilities in English, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), International Compliance Association (ICA) certifications, or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are advantageous. Proficiency in Arabic language skills may also support client engagement within regional regulatory environments.

- Conduct comprehensive legal and regulatory research using LexisNexis and other legal research databases to identify applicable UAE laws, regulatory guidance, supervisory expectations, and regulatory frameworks relevant to client operations across various sectors and jurisdictions.
- Identify, interpret, and analyze regulatory obligations applicable to client organizations by assessing how UAE laws and regulatory requirements affect operational processes, governance structures, and compliance management practices.
- Execute regulatory compliance reviews, compliance gap assessments, and compliance maturity assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing compliance programs and identify areas requiring enhancement or remediation.
- Assist in the design, development, and update of legal and compliance frameworks, compliance policies and procedures, and internal controls to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, governance standards, and industry best practices.
- Support the drafting of high-quality compliance reports, regulatory findings, risk assessment documentation, and client deliverables that present clear analysis and practical recommendations for improving regulatory compliance performance.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of legal and compliance audits by performing documentation review, testing internal controls, assessing compliance evidence, and preparing audit reports and supporting documentation.
- Analyze regulatory developments, legislative updates, and supervisory guidance to assess potential impact on client business models, operational processes, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory obligation registers and support the development of compliance monitoring frameworks that allow organizations to track regulatory requirements, monitor compliance status, and manage regulatory risk.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, interviews, and information-gathering sessions to support engagement delivery, validate regulatory interpretations, and ensure accurate understanding of operational processes and compliance structures.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality engagement outputs in accordance with engagement timelines, advisory standards, and internal quality control requirements while maintaining documentation accuracy and analytical rigor.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree providing foundational expertise in legal analysis, statutory interpretation, and regulatory frameworks applicable to business and corporate environments.
- Possess a Masterβs degree in Law such as LLM or another equivalent postgraduate legal qualification, which is considered advantageous for advanced specialization in legal and regulatory compliance advisory.
- Demonstrate 3β5 years of professional experience in legal services, regulatory compliance, risk advisory, governance, or internal audit roles within consulting firms, advisory environments, or regulated industries.
- Demonstrate strong practical experience conducting legal and regulatory research using LexisNexis and similar legal research platforms to identify legislation, case law, regulatory guidance, and compliance obligations.
- Possess proven capability in analyzing and interpreting UAE laws and regulations and translating regulatory requirements into practical compliance frameworks, internal controls, and operational procedures.
- Exhibit strong legal drafting, report-writing, and analytical documentation skills in English to produce detailed compliance reports, regulatory analyses, and advisory deliverables with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrate familiarity with regulatory frameworks issued by UAE regulatory authorities including Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA β ADGM), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), and Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA).
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint to support regulatory analysis, documentation preparation, reporting, and presentation of compliance findings.
- Possess professional certifications in regulatory compliance, internal audit, fraud examination, or governance risk advisory such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), International Compliance Association (ICA) certifications, or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), which are considered advantageous.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Arabic language (spoken and written) as an additional advantage for supporting regulatory advisory engagements and stakeholder communication within the regional regulatory environment.
