Job description
DP World is seeking a Group Manager – Treasury Legal to support the Group Lead Counsel, Group Treasury in providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice across global treasury and financing activities. Based in Dubai, the role supports Group Treasury, senior management, regional Finance Directors, CFOs, and business unit leadership across all divisions. The position is responsible for advising on a broad range of treasury, banking, and financing documentation, supporting negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, and liaising with external legal counsel. Transactions range from small-scale financings to multi-billion-dollar project financings, including corporate loans, guaranteed facilities, refinancings, restructurings, and Islamic finance structures. The role ensures consistency in legal approach across the Group, identifies and mitigates risks and restrictions in financing documentation, supports standardization of legal precedents, and advises on the legal impact of financings on existing and proposed corporate activities. The position also monitors changes in law affecting treasury operations, supports updates to treasury policies and standard documents, and contributes to continuous business improvement across DP World’s global operations.

Key responsibilities
- Support the Group Lead Counsel, Group Treasury in advising on legal issues arising from all forms of debt financing including project finance, corporate finance, guaranteed facilities, refinancings, restructurings, and Islamic finance
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues related to bank financings, treasury products, and intercompany lending arrangements
- Prepare, review, and negotiate financing documentation and support transactions from term sheet stage through financial close
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate legal, commercial, and operational risks and restrictions in treasury and financing documentation
- Support legal negotiations with external stakeholders, lenders, and counterparties
- Manage and coordinate external legal counsel including instruction, review of work, and control of legal spend
- Promote collaboration between Group Treasury, Group Legal, and regional business unit legal teams
- Draft, review, and update standard loan, guarantee, and derivative documentation to maintain DP World legal precedents
- Monitor and assess changes in law impacting treasury activities and support implementation of required internal changes
- Review and advise on ad hoc treasury-related documents including NDAs, banking terms of business, deal confirmations, and intercompany loans
- Contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives and achievement of Group business objectives
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Law degree from an accredited university in a common law jurisdiction or equivalent qualification to practice law
- Be qualified to practice law in a recognized common law jurisdiction with a current practicing certificate
- Possess 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a leading international law firm, preferably within a debt finance practice
- Demonstrate experience with English law governed loan, guarantee, security, and debt finance documentation including LMA documentation
- Exhibit experience in cross-border finance, corporate and commercial transactions from term sheet through financial close
- Maintain strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills with commercial awareness
