Job description
The role leads AWSâs Digital Sovereignty Specialist Sales organization, responsible for driving adoption of AWS sovereign cloud solutions and guiding customers and partners through complex digital sovereignty requirements. It involves building and managing a specialized sales team across partner and customer segments, driving operational excellence, and aligning strategic sales efforts across AGS, AWSI, and WWPS organizations. The position supports complex global deal negotiations, accelerates revenue growth and pipeline development, and manages Digital Competency Partner initiatives to develop sovereign-by-design solutions. Responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert to influence sovereign cloud opportunities, partnering with account teams to identify and pursue cloud adoption, and serving as a trusted advisor for C-level executives and technical decision makers. The role requires fostering strategic customer relationships, providing business and technical guidance, performing market analysis, contributing to long-term strategic roadmaps, and leveraging data insights to inform decisions. It collaborates across multiple stakeholder groups and business units, identifies new business opportunities, supports innovation in sovereign cloud solutions, and drives best practices and process improvements aligned with compliance and regulatory requirements. The position demands high-level stakeholder management, maintaining internal and external relationships, and demonstrating AWS leadership principles while guiding teams through complex engagements and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Build and lead a dedicated Digital Sovereignty specialist sales team comprising partner and customer-focused sales specialists
- Drive operational excellence and align Digital Sovereignty sales efforts across business groups
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance to drive team growth and capability development
- Partner with account managers to identify and pursue sovereign cloud opportunities and accelerate adoption
- Act as a subject matter expert to position sovereign cloud solutions and remove blockers during customer engagements
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers
- Lead strategic customer engagements and play a leadership role in proposing and closing large sovereign cloud deals
- Foster strategic customer relationships to support adoption, uncover needs, and provide technical and business guidance
- Contribute to multi-year strategic roadmap development leveraging market trends and customer insights
- Collaborate with BI and Sales Operations to utilize data inputs for strategic decision-making
- Drive alignment across internal stakeholders and facilitate communication across business units
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and promote sovereign cloud thought leadership
- Support sales teams in complex deal structures and negotiations
- Ensure operational excellence through best practices, process improvement, and compliance alignment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while demonstrating AWS leadership principles
Experience & skills
- Possess a minimum of 8 years of sales experience in complex enterprise environments
- Demonstrate proven experience managing teams to achieve significant revenue targets of $200M+
- Show experience developing long-term strategic relationships with key enterprise accounts
- Bring experience analyzing data and performance best practices to assess performance drivers
- Demonstrate ability to plan, manage, and close competitive sales efforts including negotiation and deal delivery
- Exhibit experience proactively growing customer relationships and understanding customer business needs
- Show a track record in implementing and delivering large-scale projects and communicating effectively at the executive level
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience working in global, multiâtime zone environments
- Capability to handle changing priorities and apply sound judgment under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions
- Experience in sovereign cloud or highly regulated environments preferred
