Job description
The Onshore Structural Engineer at Aramco is responsible for designing, analyzing, and providing expert structural engineering consultation for onshore buildings, piperacks, foundations of static and dynamic equipment, and other civil/structural structures. The role involves performing design reviews of engineering packages prepared by contractors to ensure compliance with the company's engineering requirements and optimizing designs. The engineer develops, maintains, and interprets Aramco’s engineering standards and specifications, conducts vendor technical assessments for structural steel fabricators and similar commodities, and evaluates site structural conditions, providing rehabilitation solutions where necessary. Additionally, the engineer supports innovation and technology programs, assesses emerging technologies for civil/structural applications, and serves as a professional mentor to junior engineers. The role requires expertise in structural analysis software, familiarity with international codes and standards, and the ability to apply advanced structural engineering methods including dynamic, blast-resistant, and seismic designs.

- Conduct analysis and design of onshore buildings and non-building structures using STAAD Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000
- Perform design reviews of engineering packages prepared by contractors to ensure compliance with engineering standards and optimize designs
- Develop, maintain, and interpret engineering standards and specifications related to onshore structures discipline
- Conduct vendor technical assessments for structural steel fabricators and related commodities
- Perform site structural condition assessments of existing structures and provide rehabilitation solutions
- Support innovation and technology programs, assess new and emerging technologies for civil/structural applications
- Act as a professional mentor to developing structural engineers and specialists, providing guidance on technical and professional development
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Professional Engineering or Chartered Engineering Certification or equivalent
- 15+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably in the energy sector
- Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and design software (STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000)
- Familiarity with international codes and standards such as IBC, ACI, AISC or similar
- Understanding and experience in advanced structural engineering topics including dynamic analysis, blast-resistant design, and seismic design
- Knowledge of latest technologies, materials, and construction methods pertaining to structural engineering
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and networking skills
