Job description
The Pricing Analyst at Gulf Air is responsible for supervising and implementing pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness while optimizing revenue. The role collaborates with sales field pricing officers, revenue management, inventory control, codeshare, and fares distribution staff to define and execute both structural and tactical pricing across all distribution channels including Public and Private GDS, Web, and Sanctioned fares. The analyst monitors competitor pricing, evaluates route performance, and utilizes tools like AirPrice and Fare Class Re-alignment to support pricing decisions, recommend proactive fare changes, analyze revenue performance, and ensure compliance with filing and revenue accounting processes. The position requires a deep understanding of airline economics, tariffs, ticketing, supply and demand dynamics, and the overall aviation sales process, with a significant impact on Gulf Air's access to global networks and revenue optimization.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise Gulf Air fares and fuel surcharges to ensure competitiveness and revenue optimization
- Implement strategic and tactical pricing across all distribution channels
- Monitor competitor fares daily and recommend proactive pricing changes
- Coordinate with Regional Pricing Manager on pricing strategies and tactical changes
- Utilize AirPrice and other analytical tools to monitor and store pricing information
- Analyze route performance, market share, forecasted loads, and flown passenger data to inform pricing decisions
- Manage fare restrictions and RBD allocations to optimize market segmentation, reduce cancellations, and promote early ticket issuance
- Oversee filing of fares through ATPCO and update fare contracts using Contract Composer
- Support Revenue Accounting by ensuring fare amendments and filings meet acceptable standards
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new system updates
Experience & skills
- 5–7 years airline experience within a numerate/analytical environment
- Knowledge of airline tariffs, ticketing, and pro-ration
- Solid understanding of reservations booking process
- Comprehension of supply and demand economics
- Understanding of aviation sales processes and discounting options
- Bachelor degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills
- PC literate with advanced MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in written and spoken English
