The Investment Banking Analyst – MENA Coverage at J.P. Morgan is part of the Global Banking and Investment Banking team responsible for origination and execution of public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets transactions across the MENA region. The role involves working across multiple industries and supporting corporate and financial sponsor clients in executing strategic transactions including listings, rights issues, acquisition financing, and leveraged finance. The Analyst supports end-to-end transaction execution from pitch preparation through to deal close, working closely with senior bankers and cross-functional industry, product, and regional teams. Responsibilities include conducting market research, analysing companies and industry data, building detailed financial models, and performing valuation analyses including comparable trading multiples, discounted cash flow (DCF), and leveraged buyout (LBO) methodologies. The role requires preparation of client presentations, support in marketing materials, and contribution to strategic advisory efforts. The Analyst plays a key role in executing M&A transactions (both public and private), equity capital markets transactions such as IPOs and rights issues, and debt capital markets advisory activities across the MENA region. The position requires proficiency in investment banking databases such as FactSet and Bloomberg, strong analytical skills, and high attention to detail. The role demands the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and multitasking capability across multiple assignments. Strong communication skills in English are required, with Arabic considered an advantage. The position is within J.P. Morgan’s Commercial & Investment Bank, a global financial services leader providing strategic advisory, capital raising, and risk management services to corporations, governments, and institutional investors.

Key responsibilities
- Support execution, marketing, and coverage activities across industries by preparing materials, conducting research, and assisting senior bankers in investment banking transactions
- Conduct market research and company analysis to support M&A, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets transaction origination and execution
- Prepare client presentations and pitch materials including financial analysis, valuation outputs, and strategic advisory content
- Perform valuation analyses including discounted cash flow (DCF), leveraged buyout (LBO), and comparable company multiples to support transaction decision-making
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to support M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions
- Execute end-to-end investment banking transactions from pitch stage through closing including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, rights issues, and leveraged finance deals
- Support equity and debt capital markets advisory including listings, rights issues, acquisition financing, and capital structure transactions across the MENA region
- Collaborate with industry, product, and regional teams globally to ensure seamless execution of complex investment banking transactions
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate relevant full-time experience in Investment Banking or Corporate Finance with exposure to financial modelling, valuation analysis, and transaction execution
- Possess strong financial modelling and valuation skills including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis with high attention to detail
- Demonstrate understanding of the investment banking transaction lifecycle including M&A, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets processes
- Exhibit strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with ability to analyse financial statements and market data
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and familiarity with financial databases such as FactSet and Bloomberg
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and operate in a fast-paced investment banking environment
- Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration skills within a global investment banking environment
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage but not required
