Job description
The Senior Writer/Editor role sits within Saudi Aramco’s Communications Division and is responsible for creating, editing, and refining high-quality written content that aligns with Aramco’s brand voice and supports the promotion of Ithra’s components, content, programs, and offerings. The Communications Division oversees planning and execution of marketing and communications activities, branding, positioning, sales strategies, communications KPIs, and coordination of communications collateral, timelines, deliverables, and engagements, while liaising with other Center divisions to ensure integrated coordination for Ithra initiatives. The role involves leading content creation across multiple formats, ensuring editorial accuracy and compliance with the company’s style guide, conducting in-depth research to support content development, optimizing content for search engines using SEO best practices, analyzing content performance metrics, and managing multiple content projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery. The Senior Writer/Editor also mentors junior writers and editors, stays current with industry trends and best practices, serves as a key point of contact for content-related inquiries, and supports spokesperson preparation for external engagements. The position requires extensive experience in art and culture content, including theater, museum, library, and creativity-focused domains, preferably within a digital content environment, and familiarity with content management systems. The role contributes to Aramco’s broader mission of delivering societal and economic value through world-scale projects supported by significant investment in technology, infrastructure, and talent development.

- Lead the creation, editing, and refinement of high-quality content across multiple formats aligned with brand voice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute content strategies supporting marketing and communications objectives.
- Oversee and ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all content in accordance with the company style guide.
- Mentor, guide, and provide editorial direction to junior writers and editors.
- Conduct in-depth research to support accurate and credible content development.
- Optimize content for search engines using SEO best practices and analyze content performance metrics.
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery of all deliverables.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness.
- Act as a key point of contact for content-related inquiries and coordination across divisions.
- Support communications activities related to Ithra’s branding, positioning, and external engagements.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience producing art and culture content including theater, museum, library, and creativity-focused domains.
- Proven experience as a writer and editor, preferably in a digital content environment.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices for digital content optimization.
- Experience working with content management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously in a full-time professional environment.
