Job description
Turner & Townsend is looking for a skilled Reporting Analyst with a strong focus on Power BI to join their Infrastructure department in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and developing dashboards and reports that support data-driven decisions in the electricity power transmission sector. This involves integration of operational datasets from EMS, GIS, and ERP systems, while ensuring data quality and compliance. The role also requires cross-functional collaboration, performance optimization, and staying ahead with the latest trends in reporting technologies.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor key metrics such as transmission losses, load forecasts, outage events, and asset performance
- Integrate data from multiple sources including EMS, GIS, and ERP platforms into Power BI
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and regulatory teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable visualizations
- Optimize Power BI data models for performance and scalability
- Automate data refreshes and reporting workflows using Power BI Service and Power Query
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide training and support to internal users on Power BI tools and best practices
- Stay updated on Power BI features and industry trends to continuously improve reporting capabilities
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of experience in a reporting or data analysis role, with a strong focus on Power BI
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query
- Experience working with operational data in the energy or utilities sector
- Strong understanding of power transmission systems and grid operations
- Familiarity with SQL and data integration techniques
- Experience with EMS data and asset management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM) preferred
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics is a plus
- Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements in the power sector is preferred
- Familiarity with GIS tools and spatial data visualization is advantageous
