Job description
The Head of Mechanical Engineering (Pipeline) is responsible for leading all pipeline and subsea engineering activities within MM Redevelopment offshore projects. This includes oversight of design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases to ensure project execution aligns with schedule, budget, and quality standards. The role requires substantial offshore oil and gas experience, including deep knowledge of international design codes and standards (e.g., Shell DEP), as well as proficiency in pipeline engineering software and EPIC deliverables. The successful candidate will bring over 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in offshore pipeline projects and 7 years in lead discipline roles. The position demands mastery in pipeline and subsea engineering, along with developed competence in other engineering disciplines. Strong leadership, planning, communication, and reporting skills are essential, and the individual must be capable of managing a discipline engineering team in a major project setting.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the pipeline and subsea engineering input for offshore facilities in MM Redevelopment Projects
- Ensure successful design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning within time and budget
- Manage the pipeline and subsea engineering team for major projects
- Oversee design compliance with Shell DEP and other international standards
- Conduct and review EPIC deliverables and progress reviews
- Utilize pipeline engineering software tools for design and analysis
- Ensure engineering standards and specifications are met across project phases
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for integrated project delivery
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering team
Experience & skills
- Minimum 15 years of experience in pipeline and subsea engineering in the oil & gas sector
- At least 10 years in offshore oil & gas pipeline projects
- Minimum 8 years as a senior pipeline/subsea engineer and 7 years in a lead discipline role
- Experience in working with engineering consultants, EPIC contractors, or oil & gas companies
- Familiarity with Shell DEP and international engineering codes and standards
- Expertise in pipeline and subsea design software
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams in a major project environment
- B.Sc. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
- Membership in a professional engineering association/institution preferred
