Job description
Performs all requested ultrasound examinations following American Hospital Dubai and departmental guidelines. Conducts a variety of ultrasound imaging procedures across OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal, neonatal, and interventional categories. Supports quality improvement and educational initiatives, collaborates with radiologists, and contributes to safe, clean, and efficient operation of the ultrasound suite. Maintains patient care standards, performs administrative duties when required, and participates in on-call rotations. Must have DHA license and relevant certification, with at least two years of ultrasound experience.

Key responsibilities
- Performs all requested Ultrasound examinations per department and hospital guidelines.
- Conducts imaging for OB/GYN, Abdominal, Vascular, Neonatal, Musculoskeletal, and Interventional procedures.
- Schedules patients for Ultrasound exams when necessary.
- Evaluates emergency cases and prioritizes accordingly in consultation with radiologists.
- Assists with departmental quality improvement and educational initiatives.
- Participates in meetings and projects to enhance service delivery.
- Handles incidents, complaints, and patient feedback follow-up.
- Ensures cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and workstations.
- Conducts safety checks and complies with all safety protocols.
- Prepares examination rooms and ensures readiness of equipment and accessories.
- Reviews patient history and prior studies before performing exams.
- Collaborates with radiologists to meet procedural needs.
- Documents equipment checks, cleans rooms post-procedure, and disinfects regularly.
- Maintains professional development and participates in training and seminars.
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, scheduling, and administration as required.
- Participates in the departmentās on-call rotation.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās Degree or Diploma in Ultrasound/Sonography/Medical Imaging/Radiography.
- Registration/certification or accreditation as a Radiographer/Sonographer.
- Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology.
- Understanding of ultrasound safety, radiation/magnetic protection.
- Familiarity with JCIA or other accreditation standards.
- Understanding of Middle Eastern culture and customs.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to assess, monitor, and communicate effectively with patients.
- High accuracy in positioning and ultrasound techniques.
