Job description
The PMC Specialist Quality Engineer at Wood in Abu Dhabi is responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of quality principles, systems, and the Quality Management System (QMS) across programs or projects within the oil and gas sector. The role emphasizes planning, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation. Responsibilities include executing risk-based assurance plans, analyzing delivery performance data, facilitating external certification of the Wood Business Management System (BMS), and supporting tenders and proposals. The specialist works closely with stakeholders to gather feedback, promote quality culture, and ensure compliance with internal systems such as NCR and customer satisfaction metrics. This position requires a degree in engineering or related disciplines, a lead auditor qualification, and at least 15 years of experience, including 10 years in oil & gas and 6 years in FEED/engineering. Experience in the Middle East is preferred. Key responsibilities
- Support management of all quality aspects across projects and services within the organization
- Engage regularly with key stakeholders to promote quality and collect performance feedback
- Plan and allocate resources for quality objectives, including people and budgets
- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of the Wood Business Management System (BMS)
- Ensure compliance and improvement through structured assurance programs
- Apply quality supporting systems such as NCR, progressive learning, and customer satisfaction tools
- Support tenders and proposal submissions with quality inputs
- Execute risk-based assurance plans and escalate significant findings
- Monitor and analyze delivery performance data and report trends to senior leadership
- Act on customer feedback to maintain and enhance satisfaction levels
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in engineering, quality management, project management, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience, including at least 10 years in oil & gas and 6 years in FEED/engineering
- Possess a lead auditor qualification from a recognized industry body
- Membership in CQI/ASQ or PMI (preferred)
- Have prior experience working in the Middle East (preferred)
- Demonstrate ability to work in team environments and handle multiple project responsibilities
- Show strong stakeholder engagement and team collaboration skills
