Job description
The Public Relations & Media Relations Lead at Tamara, a leading fintech platform and Saudi’s first fintech unicorn, plays a pivotal role in driving earned media, managing reputation, and elevating the company’s profile across the GCC and globally. The role requires developing and executing proactive earned media strategies to secure positive coverage in top-tier financial, business, and technology outlets. It involves creating and implementing innovative public relations campaigns to enhance visibility for Tamara’s financial super-app and its mission. The position entails identifying opportunities to profile company leaders across traditional and emerging platforms such as podcasts, managing inbound press inquiries, handling strategic writing projects including press releases, talking points, and statements, and acting as a core part of the crisis communications team. The incumbent will build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and thought leaders across financial, technology, and business media, and will be responsible for media monitoring and sentiment analysis to extract insights and guide communication strategies. Operating within a fast-paced fintech environment, the role demands a strong understanding of media dynamics, excellent communication with internal senior stakeholders, and the ability to anticipate and manage reputation risks effectively.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute proactive earned media strategies to secure positive coverage in top-tier financial, business, and technology media
- Create and implement innovative public relations campaigns to enhance Tamara’s public profile and visibility in the fintech sector
- Identify opportunities to profile company leaders and promote business initiatives across traditional and emerging media platforms including podcasts
- Support the Press Office by managing inbound press inquiries and addressing issues as they arise
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and fintech thought leaders across business and technology media
- Handle strategic writing projects including talking points, press releases, and statements
- Act as a core member of the reputation management and crisis communications team
- Prepare company spokespeople for media interviews, including developing supporting materials and key messaging
- Monitor media coverage and sentiment to analyze trends, providing insights and recommendations that inform future strategy
Experience & skills
- 5–8 years of experience in public relations and media relations, ideally within a fintech or technology environment
- Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with media contacts and senior executives
- Strong writing skills for developing clear and compelling press materials and communications
- Ability to work independently, anticipate challenges, and develop creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in reputation management and crisis communication preferred
- Familiarity with financial, business, and technology media landscape
