Job description
The Business Development Officer – Injaz role within the Retail Banking Group SME Sales function is a full-time, office-based position in the United Arab Emirates focused on onboarding Business Banking clients efficiently while ensuring strict adherence to bank controls, standards, and compliance requirements. The role owns the end-to-end onboarding journey for SME customers, with accountability for maximizing completed account applications, generating liability balances, and driving fee-based income for the bank. The position involves proactive prospecting in targeted markets, presenting and selling a full suite of business banking products and services, and maintaining accurate sales and CRM records. Success in the role is measured through clearly defined KPIs including account sourcing, account funding levels, fee income generation, and achievement of monthly sales targets. The role also requires active participation in marketing events, team activities, compliance training, and continuous engagement with customers to build long-term relationships and cross-sell opportunities.

Key responsibilities
- Source new-to-bank SME current accounts and ensure successful onboarding within defined timelines
- Ensure newly opened accounts are funded in line with KPI expectations
- Generate fee income through foreign exchange, trade finance, bancassurance, and deposit products
- Prospect targeted markets through phone calls and face-to-face customer visits
- Present and sell business banking products and services in an ethical, structured, and professional manner
- Achieve assigned monthly and annual sales targets
- Maintain and develop customer relationships to enhance cross-selling opportunities
- Ensure strict adherence to bank KYC and AML policies during customer onboarding
- Provide guidance to clients throughout the onboarding process and take end-to-end ownership of applications
- Conduct micro-marketing activities including participation in business banking events and direct marketing initiatives
- Handle customer objections to improve product take-up rates
- Record all sales activities in daily sales reports and update CRM systems with leads and contacts
- Participate in team activities including morning huddles, training sessions, coaching, and mandatory compliance and fraud training programs
Experience & skills
- Hold a graduate degree in any discipline
- Possess 3–4 years of banking sales experience
- Demonstrate UAE banking experience with mandatory UAE driving license
- Exhibit basic knowledge of business banking products, service policies, and operational processes
- Demonstrate a strong sales-oriented profile with confidence, persistence, and effective customer engagement ability
- Show ability to meet prospecting standards through phone-based and face-to-face sales activities
- Demonstrate disciplined CRM usage and sales reporting practices
