Job description
Citi is hiring an experienced Underwriter in its Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team in Dubai. The role is focused on underwriting, credit analysis, and risk monitoring for large and complex wholesale credit relationships across corporates, financial institutions, and the public sector in the Middle East and Central Asia. The candidate will execute responsibilities aligned with global credit standards, participate in origination, credit memo development, and regulatory engagement. This role combines strategic input, people mentorship, and in-depth credit analysis in a highly regulated, high-stakes environment, reporting directly to the ICM Underwriting Sub-Cluster Head.

Key responsibilities
- Adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring
- Participate in origination discussions and development of Credit Approval Memos
- Ensure CAM packages are complete and accurate
- Conduct detailed reviews of financial data, projection modelling, and stress testing
- Balance business opportunities with Citiās risk appetite
- Facilitate relationships with Banking and Risk stakeholders, regulators, internal audit and control functions
- Support ICM-UW leadership on strategic initiatives and projects
- Support Voice of the Employee initiatives
- Coach and develop analysts and mentor ICM colleagues
- Provide strategic insights into macro and regulatory issues
- Discuss risk asset allocation and risk capital with product organizations
- Engage with regulators and audit functions effectively
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of experience in corporate banking, credit risk, or corporate finance
- Senior Credit Officer designation or equivalent is preferred
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and structured finance products
- Proven experience with global credit risk management standards
- Ability to navigate regulatory environments and internal control frameworks
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Strong influencing, negotiating, and presentation skills
- Bachelorās degree required; masterās degree preferred
- Track record of working in complex international matrix organizations
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
