Job description
Special educational needs provision at Doha British School's Ain Khaled campus is shaped strategically by this SEN Teacher, from policy through to day-to-day support for individual pupils. Pupils with SEN or a disability rely on specific provision that you coordinate. Colleagues, parents and outside agencies all look to you for professional guidance. Systems and procedures need to keep every student in the cohort progressing consistently. Teaching approaches should engage and motivate students and demand their active participation. A programme of professional development and practical support helps strengthen learning and teaching across the school. The National Curriculum of England, adapted to Qatar's culture and values, frames the curriculum, with IGCSE, AS/A Level and IB offered. Candidates need a Bachelor's in Education or equivalent and a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate, and a National Award for SEN Coordination is preferred. Appointment depends on an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references, and extracurricular contribution is expected.
