Job description
The Specialist Business Development at OQ Base Industries (SFZ) in Salalah, Oman, supports business development initiatives focused on production assets including LPG, Methanol, Ammonia, and other units. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, analyzing competitor and industry trends, executing feasibility studies, and developing business cases for new initiatives. The position contributes to the execution of commercial strategies in line with OQBIās objectives across the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. Responsibilities include supporting pricing strategies, sales forecasts, financial modeling, budgeting, and investment evaluation. The role also involves collaboration with internal departments such as Operations, Finance, Legal, and Engineering to ensure project success and alignment. Interaction with external stakeholders like government entities, joint venture partners, and regulatory bodies is also a key component. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, a solid understanding of the sector, and the ability to think strategically and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. It is aligned with Omani national objectives and governed by local and international standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices.

- Assist in identifying and researching new market opportunities for OQBIās production assets
- Conduct competitor and industry trend analysis to provide market insights
- Support the development of market-entry strategies for emerging markets and new business initiatives
- Assist in executing business development projects, including feasibility studies and financial modeling
- Help prepare business cases for new initiatives and track project timelines for successful delivery
- Support commercial strategies aligned with OQBIās production goals including pricing and sales forecasting
- Monitor commercial performance of new ventures and recommend improvements
- Support relationship management with external stakeholders including government entities and partners
- Assist in preparing presentations, meeting materials, and reports for senior leadership
- Support financial modeling, investment analysis, and budgeting for new business opportunities
- Monitor financial performance of initiatives ensuring adherence to profitability goals
- Ensure compliance of business development activities with regulations and governance standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and execution of business development projects
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Have 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries
- Demonstrate experience in supporting large-scale projects, market research, and financial modeling
- Have experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and investment evaluation processes
- Show familiarity with working with external stakeholders including partners and regulators
- Possess strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Understand production management and business development in oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors
