Job description
Responsible for providing advanced professional input to Product Development, Client Solutions and Proposition work to help Cigna Middle East and Africa become the partner of choice, refreshing core products and propositions to drive incremental growth and introducing new products and enhancements that are compliant and competitive across target markets and segments. Acts as a key contributor and advisor to the Head of Product & Solution Strategy and Vendor Management to develop regionally appropriate, compliant and competitive products and propositions for GCC, Lebanon and Africa and across segments (Top-Tier, Mid-Tier, local/domestic) for both Group and Individual, aligned with the Simple, Affordable and Predictable strategy and business strategic priorities. Leads the Local Product forum with internal stakeholders to create governance, gather feedback to inform priorities and planning, and communicate strategies and updates; leads strategic business priorities to execute business goals; influences departmental priorities to enable growth and earnings targets; responds with agility to ad-hoc priorities (e.g., new product or operating model requirements for strategic new business clients) and to regulatory market change while continuing to execute strategic priorities. Represents Product & Solution Strategy in Steer Co meetings, articulating progress and recommendations with an analytical approach and candid risk disclosure. Leads Global (Cignalinks) projects as conduit between local and global teams, sharing local regulatory requirements and shaping appropriate operating models based on global and local capabilities. Trains, develops and leads other team members. Partners with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Actuary, IT and Operations to design, develop and launch new product initiatives; supports product roadmap priorities; manages projects for new product development in an Agile environment when a project manager is not allocated; coordinates knowledge sharing within the product team; leverages partnership strengths and capabilities to support market growth; evaluates product portfolio status annually; provides updates to the Head of Product for senior management reporting; reports project status and resource utilization and recommends changes to improve overall team effectiveness; and contributes across propositions, including individual and health services segments.

- Lead the Local Product forum, establish governance, capture stakeholder feedback, and communicate strategies and updates to inform team priorities and planning
- Develop regionally appropriate, compliant and competitive health insurance products and propositions across GCC, Lebanon and Africa for Group and Individual segments (Top-Tier, Mid-Tier, local/domestic) aligned to the Simple, Affordable and Predictable strategy
- Drive strategic business priorities and influence departmental priorities to achieve growth and earnings targets
- React to regulatory market changes and ad-hoc business priorities with agility while executing strategic priorities
- Represent Product & Solution Strategy in Steer Co meetings, present progress, recommendations and risks using a structured analytical approach
- Lead Global (Cignalinks) projects, align local and global teams on regulatory requirements and determine operating models based on capabilities and requirements
- Train, develop and lead other members of the Product & Solution Strategy team
- Partner with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Actuary, IT and Operations to design, develop and launch new product initiatives
- Support product roadmap priorities and ensure alignment to growth strategy
- Own project management for new product development initiatives in an Agile environment when a dedicated project manager is not assigned
- Share knowledge with peers across the product team to ensure consistency and leverage best practices
- Leverage partnerships to support growth and align capabilities to market needs
- Evaluate product portfolio status annually and recommend enhancements or retirements
- Provide updates to the Head of Product for senior management reporting and visibility
- Report project status and resource utilization and recommend changes to improve team effectiveness across propositions, including individual and health services segments
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA or Master’s degree or equivalent experience is advantageous
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience/knowledge of domestic and expatriate healthcare products and services, preferably within Sales, Operations, Product or Marketing and with knowledge of group propositions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Project management experience preferred (Agile exposure beneficial)
- Ability to collaborate with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Actuary, IT and Operations in the product development process
- Capability to lead strategic priorities, present in Steer Co settings, and provide analytical recommendations
- Experience evaluating product portfolios and contributing to product roadmap planning
