Job description
Role sits within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Business Support unit under C&IB - Business Support & Governance, supporting FIG which provides financial services to clients comprising financial institutions (FIs), non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), sovereigns and supranational entities, and also raises funding for the bank from various relationship banks based on the bank’s requirements. The unit supports FIG with execution of transactions approved by FIG including loans, borrowings and asset distribution, and is responsible for driving and implementing initiatives aligned with bank strategies and facilitating projects to meet current and future organizational needs related to FI customer services, operations and compliance. Primary objective is to ensure execution of documentation and transactions aligned to the documentation framework and credit approvals, ensure compliance with polices, maintain robust controls, and attain operational efficiency while executing FI transactions without compromising risk standards. Job holder facilitates agreement finalization and extends operational support for transactions involving financial institutions, sovereigns, and supranational entities, and manages day-to-day activities of the C&IB FIG – Business Support team, accountable for effective, efficient and compliant execution of transactions while ensuring highest standards in customer service. Scope includes service delivery and transaction execution for FI assets and liabilities for FIG clients including banks, NBFIs, sovereigns and multilateral entities; preparation and negotiation of LMA agreements, Master Risk Participation Agreements, Master Trade Loan agreements, non-disclosure agreements, other master agreements, transactional agreements and associated security documentation for syndications/club loans, bilateral loans, trade loans, secondary market sale/purchase, trade finance programs and risk participations, covering both conventional and Islamic transactions. Leads legal documentation due diligence by liaising with business, counterparties, agents, stakeholders, and internal/external legal counsel in reviewing syndication loans, bank borrowings and other specialized transactions; reviews all legal agreements and documentation for consistency, timeliness, accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with bank policies, credit approval terms and conditions, and pricing approvals; manages FIG operations such as lodgement and disbursements, repayments, selldown administration; reviews and periodically updates template documents with support of Group Legal. Provides transaction life cycle management / compliance by achieving same-day turnaround for internal and external customer inquiries with zero complaints or escalations; works with Group Compliance, Group Tax, Credit Administration for transaction review, execution and administration; analyzes and assesses process risks and ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulations to protect the bank’s interests; develops and updates documentation policies, guidelines, frameworks and templates and acts as point of policy/procedural reference. Drives process improvement/projects by streamlining workflows, standardizing documentation, adopting best practices, providing strategic and operational oversight to optimize, integrate and scale systems/platforms while leveraging synergies, and planning/managing/implementing assigned projects to deliver results per business case. Leads team and stakeholder management by training and guiding business support team and liaising with stakeholders to ensure best service delivery. Experience expectations include minimum 10 years in a banking environment with at least 5 years in credit documentation and managerial experience in a similar environment, plus in-depth knowledge of credit facility documentation including security documentation, strong knowledge of LMA and BAFT documentation, sound knowledge of FI, trade and treasury products including Islamic products, knowledge of credit appraisal processes and considerations, understanding of loan transaction life cycle, and knowledge of policies and frameworks.

- Develop and update documentation policies, guidelines, frameworks and templates and act as the unit’s policy and procedural reference point
- Drive continuous improvement by streamlining workflows, standardizing documentation, and adopting best practices
Experience & skills
- Hold graduate education, preferably with a finance or legal background
- Bring minimum 10 years of experience in a banking environment including at least 5 years’ experience in credit documentation
- Demonstrate managerial experience in a similar banking/FIG business support environment managing day-to-day team activities
- Maintain in depth knowledge of credit facility documentation including security documentation
- Apply strong knowledge of LMA documentation and BAFT documentation including loan agreements as per BAFT, LMA with negotiation capability
- Possess sound knowledge of FI, trade and treasury products including Islamic products and adequate knowledge of trade finance products
- Understand credit appraisal processes and considerations and the loan transaction life cycle
- Show knowledge of various policies and frameworks and capability to analyze/assess process risks and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations
- Execute and review documentation for consistency, timeliness, accuracy and completeness against credit approval terms and conditions and pricing approvals
- Support systems/platform optimization and integration for scalable operations and deliver assigned projects as per business case
