The Audit & Assurance Intern (IT Audit) position at Deloitte provides a hands-on introduction to professional audit and assurance practices within a globally recognized firm. Working under the guidance of experienced auditors, interns will contribute to risk assessment procedures, financial statement reviews, and compliance checks while gaining exposure to both traditional and technology-driven audit methodologies. Key responsibilities
- Assist in performing IT audit procedures to assess financial and operational risks.
- Support the delivery of high-quality audits by following Deloitteās global audit methodology and quality standards.
- Contribute to risk assessment processes to identify material misstatements or control weaknesses.
- Assist in preparing audit documentation, working papers, and reports for client engagements.
- Perform data analysis and testing of systems and controls under supervision.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to ensure audits are completed on time and in compliance with firm and regulatory standards.
- Apply knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS, ISA) in practical audit situations.
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and client interactions to gain exposure to real-world business issues.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, independence requirements, and quality control policies.
- Develop technical and professional skills through on-the-job learning and Deloitte training programs.
Experience & skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong academic record and interest in audit, assurance, and risk management.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and auditing concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work in diverse teams.
- High attention to detail and commitment to professional excellence.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic-English bilinguals preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
