Job description
Honeywell is seeking an experienced Advanced Project Engineer to serve as the Telecom Technical Lead in Abu Dhabi. The role entails designing, configuring, implementing, testing, and documenting Honeywell Security Solutions and convergent communication networks (voice, data, video) for industrial environments. This position demands leadership in developing proposals, managing project teams, and adhering to RFQ specifications. The candidate must possess advanced skills in network architecture, security systems, wireless communications, and industrial-grade infrastructure solutions. Hands-on experience with Honeywell platforms (EBI, DVM, Temaline), strong networking capabilities (L2/L3), and familiarity with industry-standard firewall systems (Fortinet, Palo Alto) are essential.

Key responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Honeywell EBI-Temaline Access Control, Digital Video Manager, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Develop and implement convergent networks for data, voice, and video applications.
- Lead the network and infrastructure design including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed telecom designs within tight deadlines and limited information.
- Document network assumptions and create project documentation per RFQ specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure design compliance and functionality.
- Develop bill of materials, clarify project assumptions, and identify exceptions to standard practices.
- Implement network and security systems in industrial settings, ensuring resilience and compliance.
- Design and support implementation of PAGA, Tetra/DMR, and microwave radio projects.
- Create accurate network diagrams and documentation using AutoCAD and Visio.
Experience & skills
- BS Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with Honeywell EBI, DVM, and Temaline Access Control Systems.
- 10+ years of experience in PAGA, LAN/WAN/WLAN, and VoIP network design in industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience configuring network switches and routers.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols.
- Experience with Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls is a plus.
- Proficiency in wireless networks and VoIP.
- Expertise in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio for system design documentation.
- Familiarity with RFQ processes and cost estimation for telecom equipment.
- Industrial site experience and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an advantage.
