Job description
The Partner Technical Specialist (PTS) plays a strategic, technical sales role within IBM, focusing on driving the adoption and integration of IBM Technologies across partner ecosystems. This role requires deep technical expertise and experience in application development and hybrid cloud integration. As a PTS, you will collaborate with partners to shape their technology strategies, embed IBM solutions into their architectures, and build scalable solutions that drive client success. This involves enabling partner capabilities, leading strategic discussions, co-developing solutions, and ensuring technical readiness in the partner ecosystem.

Key responsibilities
- Establish trusted advisor relationships with IBM business partners to drive adoption of IBM technologies.
- Influence partners' technical strategies and embed IBM solutions into their reference architectures.
- Coordinate IBM technical resources to design and implement client and partner-centric solutions.
- Grow partner capabilities for scaling IBM technologies in sales and technical engagements.
- Utilize sales tools and internal networks (TechZone, PartnerPlus, CE, Build Lab, etc.) to enable partners.
- Support strategic technical discussions and design sessions with partners.
- Lead technical enablement activities to demonstrate and validate IBM technology use cases.
- Drive technical efforts to increase partner engagement and deliver ecosystem growth.
- Apply design thinking, architecture, and development principles to drive IBM technology integration.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree required; Masterās degree preferred.
- Deep technical knowledge in IBM technologies and automation platforms.
- Expertise in hybrid cloud, application development, and DevOps tools.
- Experience with containerization tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker.
- Knowledge of application architectures, integration platforms, and enterprise middleware.
- Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Tekton.
- Understanding of application servers, API management, and event streaming platforms.
- Programming proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows systems and networking.
- Experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for partner and client engagements.
