Job description
The Lead Chemical Engineer at Honeywell UOP is a resident role based in Abu Dhabi with a focus on customer account management primarily across UAE and Oman. The position includes full responsibility for delivering technical services, implementing Honeywellâs Service Vision, and managing financial performance including P&L targets. The engineer will build strong technical relationships within customer organizations, understand refinery/plant configurations and goals, manage troubleshooting and technical support efforts, and drive service and digital offerings. This role includes support for unit start-ups, catalyst reloads, and strategic application of UOP technologies to meet processing goals. Collaboration with internal departments, drafting service agreements, collecting receivables, and maintaining CRM documentation are key aspects of the position. Strong knowledge in reforming and gas processing technologies is preferred.

Key responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with customer personnel across various organizational levels
- Understand customersâ refinery and plant configurations, processing goals, and strategies
- Manage troubleshooting efforts with support from UOPâs Technical Service Department
- Support new unit start-up and catalyst reload activities; define work scope and schedule
- Determine application of UOP products and services to meet customer processing goals
- Collaborate and support service and digital offerings to meet financial targets
- Oversee all customer service interactions and ensure appropriate agreements are in place
- Draft and finalize service agreements in coordination with customers and legal teams
- Share customer intelligence with UOP CSO counterparts to inform strategy
- Assist in receivables collection
- Prepare meeting reports, maintain customer account plans, and update SFDC
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- 12-15 yearsâ experience in refining, petrochemical, or gas industries
- Technical experience with some exposure to direct sales
- Strong knowledge in reforming and gas processing technologies preferred
- Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders
- Demonstrated cross-business collaboration skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to influence and negotiate
- Experience in customer relationship management and technical service delivery
