Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer with a proven track record in overseeing the design, operation, and maintaining rotating equipment, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards for a high-profile client. The role involves supporting clients across EMEA, focusing on maintenance, operations, asset management, and engineering services in the energy and materials markets.

- Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies.
- Assists, supports, and delivers, under limited supervision functional activities within the assigned business(es) including drafting, review, and negotiation of confidentiality agreements / NDAs in accordance with business needs.
- Client contracts (bespoke and standard forms) include project-specific contracts and MSAs.
- Drafting and review of financial instruments (Bonds / Letters of Credit, PCGs, Collateral Warranties).
- MOUs and exclusive arrangements are all in accordance with Wood's group-wide policies and approval processes.
- Review proposed contract qualifications with other functions, as required, to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration mode.
- Negotiation of contractual terms with clients.
- Providing overviews of contract T&Cs and associated issues to senior management and execution teams, as applicable.
- The provision of specific contracts related inputs to the Tender Governance Process.
- Identification of contractual risks for inclusion in the risk management process.
- Draft and develop prime contract flow-down terms to be incorporated into purchase orders and subcontracts, in conjunction with Supply Chain and other functions, as required.
- The provision of contractual interpretation advice, as required.
- Assisting with the timely provision of commercial deliverables (e.g. bonds, PCGs, evidence of insurance) in accordance with contract requirements and Wood Policies.
- Provision of contractual inputs to Commercial Handovers, including mitigations and actions required by Contracting Policy approvals.
- Preparation, negotiation establishment, and administration of Joint Venture and/or Partnering agreements.
- Alignment of contractual terms, including management of change, with the associated contract remuneration model.
- The pursuit of Wood's assertive claims and/or defending claims against Wood included, as required.
- Participation in Wood in industry-wide contracts initiatives and workgroups (e.g. Oil and Gas UK or equivalent) under the supervision of their manager.
- Subcontract formation and main contract flow-downs in conjunction with other functions, as required.
Experience & skills
- Degree in relevant discipline.
- A total of 15 years’ experience.
- Experience and proven track record of contract review, drafting, and negotiation in a service company environment.
- In addition to an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, the individual should have work experience in the industry which would allow an understanding of and exposure to key contracting principles.
- Working knowledge of contract terms, contract principles, and drafting and rollout of contracting policies.
- Working knowledge of the Company Finance and P&O systems.
- Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
- Excellent understanding of Client contract structures, principles, and policies.
