Job description
The Business Analyst – Planning and Support (Sales Support Senior Analyst) at Citi in Dubai is an intermediate-level role responsible for leading the formulation and implementation of both long-term and short-term strategic plans and objectives aimed at increasing market share, market penetration, and maximizing growth opportunities across the marketplace. The role supports product specialists by providing qualified referrals for cross-sell opportunities and contributes to closing deals across multiple banking and financial products. It also involves oversight and assurance of safe and sound underwriting and credit practices while supporting overall lending operations. The position requires providing sales assistance through the design and implementation of process improvements, supporting new products, promotions, and business-defined projects, and reviewing and developing training materials for sales and operations teams. The role includes supporting sales activities for high-profile clients, providing administrative assistance to sales management teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining adherence to Citi’s internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory frameworks. The analyst is also responsible for risk assessment in business decision-making, safeguarding the firm’s reputation, clients, and assets, and ensuring transparent escalation and reporting of control issues. The role requires coaching and mentoring new recruits, contributing to team development, and demonstrating strong communication skills and industry knowledge in financial services operations and sales support functions.

Key responsibilities
- Lead formulation and implementation of long-term and short-term strategic sales support plans to increase market share and market penetration across the marketplace
- Provide product specialists with qualified referrals to enable cross-sell opportunities and support deal closure across banking and financial products
- Support underwriting and credit practices by ensuring safe and sound lending operations and compliance with internal and external regulations
- Design and implement process improvements to enhance sales operations efficiency and effectiveness
- Support introduction and execution of new products, promotions, and business initiatives defined by the organization
- Develop, review, and provide training materials to sales and operations teams and support onboarding of new recruits
- Provide administrative and operational assistance to sales management teams including coordination and reporting
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards while supporting sales activities
- Mentor, coach, and guide new team members and provide advisory support within area of specialization
- Assess risk in business decisions and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency to safeguard clients and organizational assets
Experience & skills
- Possess 5–8 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or sales support roles
- Holds Series 7 licensing as a mandatory requirement
- Demonstrate working knowledge of industry practices and standards within financial services
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Holds Bachelor’s degree or University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Apply knowledge of credit underwriting practices and lending operations support
- Demonstrate understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in financial services
- Provide experience in sales support, strategic planning, and business analysis within banking environments
