Job description
The P220i is a roughly 220 HP heavy-fuel engine for MALE-class aircraft and Powertech's highest-value product, and this Product Manager owns it from end to end. Final technical and commercial decisions sit with you, covering the roadmap, configuration baseline, requirements, change control and the product P&L, including unit cost, pricing, margin and capital intensity. Development and manufacturing happen through a partnership in Italy, so day-to-day partner management and a strong on-site presence during build and industrialisation are part of the job. Engineering decisions span the larger-displacement heavy-fuel architecture, EFI/ECU, redundancy, generator and power, and the installation envelope, with interface control documents maintained for MALE-class integration. A master schedule and risk register track the programme from concept through development and qualification to first build. Testing is hands-on, from directing the Test Engineer and approving test plans to signing off data in the test cell and during flight-test campaigns, with compliance against specifications such as Reach-M. Customers deal with you on RFQs, statements of work, quotations and negotiations, and growing the MALE-class pipeline regionally and internationally falls here too. Candidates need an engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, automotive or propulsion, 8+ years in engine or powertrain development including programme leadership, end-to-end ownership of a complex engine product and experience managing cross-border manufacturing partnerships.
