Job description
The Accounting Senior Analyst at Cigna Healthcare in Dubai is a key financial reporting and analysis role designed for a finance professional with a keen analytical mind and a results-driven attitude. This individual will oversee crucial aspects of the companyâs financial operations, particularly related to ledger accounting, monthly closures, audit support, and regulatory compliance. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration, particularly with FP&A, operations finance, and data intelligence teams. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for improving processes, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting the preparation of internal and external reports. Experience in healthcare or insurance sectors is highly advantageous, reflecting the complexity and regulation of Cignaâs operational environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and reconcile key financial reporting measurements in coordination with the FP&A Team, Ops Finance, and Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse.
- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations, including review and correction of journal entries and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial exhibits and support accurate close processes.
- Manage and prepare regulatory financial reports on a quarterly basis in accordance with applicable standards.
- Collaborate with internal finance departments to resolve intercompany out-of-balance items (ICO) and finalize ARM (Account Reconciliation Management) processes on time.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist with operational financial reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to ad hoc financial analysis requests and special projects, particularly related to process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices for accounting and reporting workflows.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and full-cycle month-end close.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, or a related field is required.
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in the healthcare or insurance industry is strongly preferred due to regulatory and financial complexity.
- Strong working knowledge of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with financial systems and ERP platforms; comfort with data warehouse and business intelligence tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
