Job description
The Head of IOF Project (Business Processes) leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for QatarEnergy’s Intelligent Oil Field (IOF) Program, driving digital transformation initiatives focused on subsurface, drilling, and production management across operated assets. The role oversees the implementation of vendor solutions, development of internal applications, improvement of workflows, and updates to governance frameworks and standards. It requires collaboration with subsurface teams and ICT to enhance operational efficiency, align with industry best practices, and deliver sustainable value through optimized processes and technology integration. The position demands a minimum of 15 years of progressive Oil & Gas experience, including 10 years in IOF or upstream digitalization projects, with strong technical grounding in field development, drilling, well/reservoir/facility management, real-time operations, integrated projects and digital transformation technologies. It requires fluency in English, with Arabic skills valued, and experience in supervision, career development, stakeholder negotiation, partnership management, contract establishment and managing agreements. The role emphasizes high motivation, confidence and the ability to work interdependently across different departments and functions.

- Negotiate, establish and manage partnerships, contracts and agreements with stakeholders
Experience & skills
- Possess a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Hold at least 10 years of direct technical expertise and management of IOF or upstream digitalization projects
- Demonstrate strong technical understanding of Oil & Gas with experience in field development, drilling, well/reservoir/facility management, real-time operations and digital transformation technologies
- Be well-versed in relevant oil and gas industry standards
- Show previous supervisory experience including managing direct reports and career development
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with Arabic valued
- Demonstrate motivation, confidence and ability to work across departments and functions
- Show practical experience in negotiating and managing partnerships, contracts and agreements
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering or similar
