Job description
The Tax Manager at Silal plays a mission-critical role in ensuring the organizationās full compliance with UAE tax regulations, while also shaping and executing strategic tax planning initiatives. The role spans managing local taxes such as VAT and excise, adhering to transfer pricing policies, and implementing economic substance requirements. The position not only addresses operational tax processes (filings, audits, compliance), but also provides strategic input to business leaders, identifying risk areas and proposing tax-efficient solutions to enhance financial health and competitiveness. As Silal continues to expand across the agri-food and manufacturing sectors, this role ensures the business remains agile and compliant in a shifting tax and regulatory landscape.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations, including VAT, excise tax, and other applicable local taxes.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and ensure timely and accurate submission to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
- Prepare and review tax provisions and tax returns, collaborating closely with internal and external auditors.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions, ensure tax efficiencies, and support business growth objectives.
- Assess the impact of new tax laws and regulations on the organization and advise senior management on tax planning opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing documentation and economic substance requirements as per UAE regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments of transfer pricing policies and recommend adjustments to align with business needs and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain tax risk management policies and procedures to improve compliance and mitigate risk.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized and accredited university.
- A Masterās degree or relevant tax certification (e.g., CTA, ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in VAT, transfer pricing, economic substance regulations, and corporate income tax principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and tax reporting software.
