Job description
This is a critical role in expanding Mashreq Bank’s footprint in Saudi Arabia by originating new-to-bank corporate deals, overseeing cross-border exposure to Saudi Arabia, and ensuring the smooth coordination of the Saudi Arabia portfolio across Mashreq. Focus on identifying and onboarding Saudi-based corporate groups with operations across Mashreq’s footprint countries, identifying and pursuing outbound business opportunities that align with the bank’s strategic objectives. The role requires coordination among different business units, ensuring the bank’s services meet the requirements of Saudi clients, while also adhering to regulatory and risk management standards. The team member has to develop a strong pipeline and ensure the Saudi Arabia framework remains aligned with evolving market conditions and regulatory changes.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the origination of new-to-bank corporate relationships in Saudi Arabia.
- Identify key growth opportunities and structure financing solutions for onboarding clients.
- Coordinate cross-border exposure to Saudi Arabia with the Enterprise Risk Management team.
- Submit enhancement requests and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Facilitate collaboration across Corporate Banking, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and other departments.
- Maintain and refine the dynamic Saudi Arabia framework based on market and regulatory developments.
- Drive the growth of Mashreq’s asset book in Saudi Arabia, identifying and pursuing opportunities across sectors.
- Ensure all transactions align with risk appetite and credit quality standards in partnership with the Credit Management & Control Unit.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to shape strategic insights.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership on portfolio performance, exposure updates, and key developments.
- Collaborate daily with internal teams across functions to ensure smooth client transaction execution.
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of experience in corporate banking with strong exposure to the Saudi Arabian and GCC markets.
- Proven expertise in originating corporate deals and managing cross-border transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s corporate banking sector, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.
- Experience in wholesale banking products including corporate financing, trade finance, cash management, FX, and derivatives.
- Strong credit acumen and risk management experience with large-scale transactions.
- Track record of structuring and managing complex deals for strategic clients.
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills, including cross-functional team coordination.
- Educational qualifications in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
