Job description
The Account Manager - Local Shops based in Manama, Bahrain is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of local vendor accounts while maintaining long-term business relationships to drive revenue growth and operational excellence. The role involves working closely with vendors to optimize product assortment, pricing strategies, promotions, and catalogue management while ensuring strong service levels and customer satisfaction. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, marketing, and vendor management to ensure seamless execution of business strategies and performance improvement initiatives. The Account Manager is responsible for monitoring vendor performance, analyzing KPIs, and identifying opportunities to expand vendor portfolios and increase order volumes. The role also involves renegotiating commission structures, selling advertisement opportunities, and supporting vendors with digital transformation initiatives. The position requires maintaining accurate vendor data, optimizing content quality, and ensuring all vendor catalogues remain updated. The role includes frequent client engagement through in-person meetings, calls, and emails to strengthen partnerships and resolve operational challenges. The Account Manager will also drive vendor adoption of digital tools such as online payments, order tracking, and white-label solutions. The role demands strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively manage relationships and achieve growth objectives within a fast-paced Q-commerce environment.

Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of local vendor accounts by conducting regular business reviews, tracking KPIs, and analyzing performance data to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational improvements
- Develop strong long-term relationships with vendors through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and email communication to ensure high service levels and business continuity
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and vendor teams to optimize product assortment, pricing strategies, promotions, and service quality
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure category growth, healthy order volumes, and proper product assortment aligned with market demand
- Maintain and update vendor catalogs, ensuring accurate product listings, pricing, delivery information, and promotional content
- Lead commission renegotiation and commercial discussions to strengthen business partnerships and improve revenue opportunities
- Drive advertisement sales and promotional activities including banners, newsletters, coupons, and brand visibility initiatives
- Encourage vendors to adopt digital tools such as online payment gateways, track order features, and white-label solutions to enhance operational efficiency
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited institution
- 3 to 5 years of experience in account management, business development, or sales within FMCG, e-commerce, or retail industries
- Strong understanding of Q-commerce platforms, vendor management, and CRM tools
- Proficiency in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools for performance tracking and decision-making
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to engage effectively with vendors and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability, flexibility, and strong problem-solving skills to handle dynamic business requirements
