Job description
The Global Trade Senior Manager (Indirect Tax) at EY in Riyadh will lead engagements for multinational clients, providing expert guidance on international trade, customs, tariffs, and global regulatory compliance. The role involves advising clients on optimizing their cross-border operations, minimizing trade-related costs, and mitigating risks within the scope of global trade laws and Free Trade Agreements. As part of EY’s Global Trade practice, the Senior Manager collaborates with cross-border teams to design and deliver compliant and cost-effective trade strategies while leveraging EY’s digital technology platforms for trade management, automation, and reporting. The position requires an in-depth understanding of customs procedures, international trade law, and supply chain management to ensure efficient movement of goods and services worldwide. Responsibilities include analyzing trade operations, supporting post-clearance audit programs, responding to regulatory authorities, and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive, results-driven advisory. The ideal candidate will combine technical trade expertise with strong leadership and communication skills, contributing to EY’s mission of building a better working world through global trade innovation.

Key responsibilities
- Advise clients on global trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures to ensure compliance with international trade laws
- Analyze client supply chain operations to identify cost-saving, efficiency, and risk mitigation opportunities
- Assist clients in leveraging Free Trade Agreements and other Special Programs for cost reduction
- Support clients in responding to post-clearance audits and interactions with Customs Authorities
- Leverage EY’s technology platforms to implement innovative trade compliance and monitoring solutions
- Stay current with global trade regulatory changes and advise clients on potential impacts
- Develop and deliver detailed reports, recommendations, and compliance frameworks to clients
- Collaborate with EY teams across Tax, Advisory, and Assurance to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, ensuring ongoing advisory support and communication
- Provide strategic guidance on operational improvements and compliance strategies for international trade processes
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field
- Extensive customs and trade advisory experience, preferably within a Big Four accounting or professional services firm
- Strong expertise in global trade compliance, customs audits, and trade advisory services
- Experience supporting multinational clients with complex supply chain and cross-border trade operations
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Preferred qualifications include Master’s degree, CPA, ACA, CA, CMA, SOCPA, Law qualification, or CTA certification
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and global environments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and client management skills
- Strong business acumen and the ability to design and implement cost-effective trade strategies
