Job description
Fuse Energy is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to define and implement the company’s security strategy. The role focuses on securing infrastructure, applications, and sensitive data across cloud and distributed systems, including high-value transaction flows and cryptographic operations. The engineer will lead threat modelling, risk assessments, incident response, and establish security best practices throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Design and implement secure infrastructure for cloud, web, and distributed applications.
- Provide guidance for cryptographic key management, signing workflows, and secure APIs.
- Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments for sensitive systems and transactions.
- Develop controls for wallet integrations, off-chain/on-chain flows, and high-privilege operations.
- Lead incident response for advanced threats, including analysis, containment, and remediation.
- Build and optimize detection mechanisms and playbooks for novel attack vectors.
- Define internal standards for security development practices, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening.
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and support industry-specific due diligence.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to embed security best practices.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer or equivalent role.
- Deep understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience securing digital transaction systems and cryptographic operations.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and software security.
- AWS cloud security experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
