Job description

Hot, high-temperature hydrocarbons at elevated pressure leave no room for slow decisions, and this Chemical Plant Operator has to stay alert, think quickly and act correctly throughout each shift. Poor choices can affect plant integrity and cost production, so DCS and panel operations must be handled with confidence. Leading and guiding colleagues on shift is part of the role, along with steady surveillance of plant conditions. Rotating shifts are standard, and extended hours may be needed. Candidates need a higher secondary certificate plus an HNC, 3 years of technical training at HNC level and 8 years of operations experience across multiple refinery or chemical plant units. Good spoken and reading English and a solid grasp of operational procedures are required.
