Job description
The Financial Reporting Manager at Al-Futtaim Group plays a pivotal role in driving financial accuracy, governance, and reporting excellence across the organization. This position oversees the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements, manages audit processes, and ensures strict adherence to IFRS standards. The role requires a technically strong accountant with a background in Big Four audit firms and the ability to collaborate across multiple business units, improving financial processes and enabling automation in reporting systems.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors during half-year and year-end audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Develop and maintain operational accounting policies, ensuring compliance and proper implementation across divisions.
- Perform chart of accounts management, reconciliations, and documentation required for audit and reporting cycles.
- Prepare technical memos and position papers on complex IFRS transactions and accounting judgments.
- Support the Tax tower with queries related to financial statements and corporate income tax filings.
- Ensure document retention and compliance standards are maintained across all geographies.
- Contribute to financial statement automation and reporting enhancement initiatives in coordination with external consultants.
- Collaborate with business units, divisional heads, and finance towers to deliver variance analytics and business insights.
- Provide IFRS workshops and internal training sessions to strengthen financial acumen within the Shared Service Center.
- Monitor audit adjustments, validate postings in SAP/BPC, and ensure reconciliations align with retained earnings and system balances.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and adherence to business excellence frameworks.
Experience & skills
- Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 5ā6 years of audit experience with a Big Four firm, plus 1ā2 years of industry experience (preferred).
- Advanced technical understanding of IFRS, financial consolidation, and audit compliance.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and experience using SAP BPC or SAP Business Warehouse.
- Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting cycles and cross-functional coordination.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills with a collaborative mindset.
