Job description
The Contract Manager – Supply Chain is responsible for analyzing, managing, and coordinating all contract management activities for projects within Saipem's oil and gas and energy sectors. This role ensures contracts during negotiation and execution phases are correctly addressed, implements Golden Rules and Silver Guidelines, supports Project Managers in developing contract execution strategies, manages changes and claims, and monitors critical subcontractor and vendor packages. The position requires expertise in common law principles, contract risk assessment, opportunity optimization, and support to tendering departments. Additional knowledge in maritime law and BIMCO principles is advantageous. The role supports the company’s sustainability and safety objectives and aligns with Saipem's approach to innovation, energy transition, and digitalization of processes.

Key responsibilities
- Analyze and manage contract terms to minimize risks and optimize opportunities
- Coordinate contract management activities during negotiation and execution phases
- Ensure implementation of Golden Rules and Silver Guidelines
- Assist Project Manager in developing contract management execution strategies and change processes
- Manage claims related to project contracts
- Draft and review project-specific contracts for goods, services, and subcontracts
- Identify critical subcontractor and vendor packages requiring monitoring for contract risks
- Support Tendering department with contractual and supply chain solutions
- Ensure compliance with legal, industry, and company standards
Experience & skills
- 5–8 years’ experience in oil and gas or energy sectors; relevant experience in similar industries considered
- Bachelor's degree in Law; Master's or postgraduate degree in Oil & Gas industry preferred
- Admission to the bar in EU, UK, or other common law jurisdiction preferred
- Strong knowledge of common law principles
- Fluency in business English (oral and written); additional languages an asset
- Knowledge of maritime law and BIMCO principles is a plus
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage complex contracts and provide solutions from contractual and supply chain perspectives
