Job description
Bank ABC's DIFC Branch in Dubai operates as a DFSA-regulated Category 4 branch, and this Senior Executive Officer is ultimately responsible for it, reporting to the Group Chief Wholesale Banking Officer. Branch P&L, the credit quality of the portfolio and all financial and non-financial targets sit with you. Strategy is set with GCWBO and Head Office, then executed through the branch's coverage, credit, product and control teams. On the business side, wholesale banking, Islamic banking, treasury, capital and financial markets products need rolling out to clients in DIFC, Dubai and the wider UAE, working with RMs and Product Heads such as Syndications and Capital Markets. Pipelines are reviewed in regular meetings, and secondary market opportunities are passed to the right product teams. DFSA relies on you as its principal point of contact, and the DIFC Risk Committee runs under your coordination. Budgets, business plans, financial returns and internal controls under delegated authority from Bahrain all require your approval or oversight. Hiring, retaining and developing the branch team completes the picture. Experience building a wholesale banking franchise in the GCC or Middle East, prior P&L responsibility for a similar office and a strong record of originating and executing transactions are expected.
