Job description

The Senior Solutions Architect (Cloud, Energy & Utilities) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Dubai / Abu Dhabi is responsible for supporting large Energy & Utilities customers by designing highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that accelerate the adoption of AWS services and enable digital transformation within the energy industry. The role involves acting as a trusted advisor to key customer personas such as CIO, CDO, and Head of AI, building deep relationships and influencing long-term technology strategies. The architect works closely with customer technical teams to develop and deliver proof of concepts and pilot solutions using AI-assisted development tools, demonstrating the value of AWS services for industry-specific challenges. Responsibilities include owning the technical relationship with customers, providing recommendations on cloud security, cost optimization, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency, and translating customer feedback into business and technical requirements for AWS product and engineering teams. The role requires expertise in cloud architecture, cloud computing, infrastructure architecture, database architecture, networking, systems engineering, software development, data analytics, and IT consulting, along with familiarity with SAP systems including SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, and SAP Business Objects. The position also involves creating thought leadership content such as blog posts and whitepapers, delivering presentations at public conferences, collaborating with internal AWS teams including product, marketing, and professional services, and contributing to hiring, mentoring, and shaping the Solutions Architecture organization. The role is focused on enabling energy sector customers to innovate and accelerate the global energy transition through AWS cloud technologies.
