Job description
The Digital Merchandising Manager for Bloomingdaleâs at Al Tayer Insignia is responsible for optimizing the customer journey and on-site experience, maintaining accurate and timely site content, and ensuring products go live within targeted SLAs while analyzing performance and driving actionable improvements. Core scope includes driving sales through merchandising and optimization of taxonomy, filters, and on-site search; assuring timely and accurate content (product images, product descriptions, digital shopping tools, promotions); orchestrating seasonal and ad hoc assortment launches in partnership with Planning, Studio, and Content from product pass-off through the photo cycle, UAT, and web launch; and, together with the Trading Manager, improving sell-thru via on-site search, sorting rules, product placement, page/product content, third-party vendors, and site configuration. The role manages color and category classification, navigates new products into site categories based on attributes and customer shopping behaviors, and maintains site product navigation. It partners with the copy team to ensure on-brand, high-quality copy optimized for search and UX; reviews styling direction of new product images to maximize helpful and accurate visual depiction; tests all on-site and marketing promotions; collaborates with Digital Marketing to optimize key categories for SEO and merchandise products using analytics; partners with Buying/Planning to forecast demand based on e-commerce metrics; identifies poor-performing stock and implements actions mindful of margins and stock availability; tracks products and inventory levels for items planned in upcoming marketing exposures; reviews live site merchandising daily for correct links to landing pages, stock evaluation, and visual merchandising; provides Customer Service with new upload summaries; maintains and updates product life cycle reports (sample receiving, shoot date, stock receipt, upload); and produces ad hoc competitive analyses and reports to support the Trading Manager. The role requires strong independent and team-working capability, problem solving, organization, attention to detail and data accuracy, strong written and verbal communication, advanced analytical and Excel skills, and commercial acumen with creative flair and a passion for luxury fashion.

- Drive sales by optimizing on-site merchandising, taxonomy, filters, and search to improve product discovery and conversion
- Ensure timely, accurate site content including product images, descriptions, digital shopping tools, and promotions within targeted SLAs
- Orchestrate seasonal and ad hoc assortment launches with Planning, Studio, and Content from product pass-off through photo cycle, UAT, and web launch
- Co-own sell-thru improvement with the Trading Manager via search tuning, sorting rules, product placement, page/product content, third-party vendors, and site configuration
- Classify products by color and category; navigate new products into site categories based on attributes and customer shopping behaviors; maintain product navigation
- Apply digital merchandising best practices across categories to enhance the on-site experience
- Partner with the copy team to maintain consistent, on-brand product copy optimized for search and UX
- Review styling direction of new product images to ensure accurate and helpful visual depiction
- Test and validate all on-site and marketing promotions to ensure correct setup and execution
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing to optimize key categories for SEO and merchandise products using analytics insights
- Partner with Buying and Planning to forecast demand using e-commerce metrics and inform inventory decisions
- Identify poor-performing stock and implement actions to increase sales while balancing margins and availability
- Track products and inventory levels for items planned in upcoming marketing exposures to ensure availability
- Audit live site merchandising daily for correct links, landing pages, stock evaluation, and visual standards
- Provide Customer Service with new upload summaries for customer communication and product suggestions
- Maintain and update product life cycle reports (sample receiving, shoot date, stock receipt, upload) to ensure complete data
- Conduct ad hoc competitive analysis covering promotions, product, and digital content to inform trading decisions
- Produce ad hoc reports to support the Trading Manager and inform commercial actions
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs Degree
- Minimum 4 years of digital merchandising experience
- Working knowledge of e-commerce and fashion best practices
- Strong knowledge of brands and product, preferably within the luxury market
- English fluency required; Arabic preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated strength in analytics and Excel; strong written and verbal communication; high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills; commercially aware with creative flair and passion for luxury fashion
