Job description
Internal Audit work in PwC's Risk Consulting practice in Doha covers compliance, financial and operational audits for clients across Qatar. Reporting to Managers and above, you take engagements from planning through to completion, keeping tasks on schedule and within budgeted time and cost. Much of the week goes on testing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, then drafting findings with their impact, risks and recommendations. Clients also look to you for help raising their internal control maturity and supporting their Internal Audit Plan on the ground. Some engagements go further, helping clients set up or develop their own internal audit or internal control function. Associates on the team rely on you for review, on-job training and coaching. Engagement budgets, quality, independence and client communication are part of the brief, as is spotting opportunities with new and existing clients. Expect to bring 3 to 6 years of internal audit experience, ideally at a Big 4 firm, along with bilingual Arabic and English and a willingness to travel frequently. A CIA, CPA, CRMA, CFE, CGRCP, PMP or CMA, completed or in progress, is a plus.

Key responsibilities
- Advise clients as a trusted adviser on risk and internal controls
- Coordinate diverse teams from planning through completion of the audit, tracking progress against timelines and internal KPIs
- Strengthen client controls and processes by developing internal audit and risk management strategies
- Identify key risks and define the audit methodology based on client objectives, control frameworks, systems and regulatory environments
- Build client relationships and research opportunities with new and existing clients
- Manage the engagement budget and economics
- Develop and execute test plans, reporting control effectiveness and improvements to clients
- Provide on-ground support for the planning, implementation and administration of client Internal Audit Plans
- Deliver Internal Audit engagements focused on compliance, financial and operational audits
- Conduct testing to evaluate the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Draft audit findings with the related impact, potential risks and recommendations
- Plan engagements so projects finish within budgeted time and cost
- Assist clients in deploying and developing their internal audit and internal control functions
- Study business functions, gather information and evaluate output requirements
- Review associate-level work and give on-job training, coaching and feedback
- Ensure adherence to compliance, quality and independence matters
- Contribute to developing service offerings in internal audit, risk and controls
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Governance, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
- Bring 3 to 6 years of internal audit experience, preferably in a Big 4 professional services firm
- Complete or pursue a professional qualification such as CIA, CPA, CRMA, CFE, CGRCP, PMP or CMA (a plus)
- Show experience assessing and testing the design and effectiveness of business controls
- Apply a background in governance, risk management and compliance
- Produce strong written reports and analysis
- Research technical issues and present alternatives and conclusions to clients and managers
- Lead engagements end to end, working directly with the partner and manager on the account
- Grow client relationships and support business development
- Use audit technologies and Data Analytics tools (a plus)
- Communicate fluently in Arabic and English, both oral and written
- Travel frequently within the Middle East and worldwide as projects require
