The Assistant Director of Finance at Delta Hotels by Marriott Jeddah Al Salam is responsible for overseeing day-to-day execution of general ledger processes and providing financial and accounting support across hotel operations within a hospitality environment. Marriott International operates a global portfolio of hotels and hospitality brands, and this role supports the financial integrity, reporting accuracy, and compliance of property-level accounting functions. The position manages core accounting operations including account balancing, ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and discrepancy resolution to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. The role supervises finance and accounting team members responsible for general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and related financial reporting processes. It ensures compliance with accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), federal and state fraud and collection regulations, and internal financial governance requirements. The Assistant Director of Finance generates and delivers timely financial reports, analyzes financial data, and evaluates outcomes to support decision-making and problem-solving within the finance function. The role includes managing profit and loss documentation, tax monitoring, and ensuring all financial obligations are accurately recorded and up to date. It also involves maintaining a strong internal control environment to safeguard organizational assets and ensure operational efficiency. The position supports the development of accounting staff through mentoring, training, and coaching, particularly in accounts receivable and posting techniques. Additionally, the role requires coordination with other departments to provide financial guidance, enforce budgeting policies, and ensure efficient use of financial resources. The Assistant Director of Finance uses accounting systems and software tools to process financial data, maintain records, and generate insights, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. The role also involves supporting executive leadership with timely financial information, resolving accounting discrepancies, and applying structured problem-solving methodologies to financial decision-making processes in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee execution of general ledger accounting processes including reconciliation, balancing, and financial reporting
- Coordinate and implement accounting work and finance-related projects across the hotel property
- Ensure compliance with accounting SOPs, internal controls, and applicable fraud and collection regulations
- Generate and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, presentations, and performance summaries
- Analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies through structured accounting and auditing methods
- Monitor and maintain profit and loss records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Supervise accounting staff handling general ledger and subsidiary ledger functions
- Maintain tax compliance by ensuring all applicable taxes are current, collected, and properly recorded
- Support training and development of finance team members including accounts receivable processes
- Provide financial guidance to other departments regarding budgeting policies and financial resource utilization
Experience & skills
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in finance or accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes
- Understanding of accounting SOPs and internal control frameworks
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Experience with accounting systems and financial data processing tools
