Job description
The Specialist â Transport and Distribution supports the Transport & Distribution Department by gathering, cleansing, sorting, and aggregating data from multiple sources, consulting on business information and decision-making needs, and designing, planning, coordinating, and managing data to produce output reports and presentations. Responsibilities include working with shipping companies to ensure shipments arrive on time and in good condition; coordinating the flow of materials and products through distribution centers or warehouses; maintaining accurate inventory records to identify overstocks or shortages; reviewing orders for completeness and correctness; planning routes and schedules for transport vehicles to meet delivery deadlines; coordinating with suppliers or vendors to arrange deliveries to clients; developing new storage or transportation methods to reduce costs or increase efficiency; reviewing shipping costs to determine the most cost-effective transport methods; and supporting other departments with logistical support during events such as trade shows. The role follows relevant functional policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions to ensure controlled and consistent work execution; assists in preparing accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements; applies safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, high-quality service delivery, and responsible environmental practices; and contributes to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement aligned to international best practice, business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with shipping companies to ensure on-time, in-good-condition arrivals for all shipments
- Plan routes and schedules for transport vehicles to meet delivery deadlines and service levels
- Coordinate material and product flows through distribution centers and warehouses
- Maintain accurate inventory records to identify overstocks or shortages and trigger corrective actions
- Review orders to verify correct fulfillment and completeness of all required information
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to arrange deliveries of materials or products to clients
- Develop and recommend new storage or transport methods to reduce cost and increase efficiency
- Analyze and review shipping costs to select the most cost-effective transport options
- Provide logistical support to internal departments during events such as trade shows
- Follow functional policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions for controlled, consistent operations
- Assist in preparing accurate, timely functional MIS statements and reports
- Apply safety, quality, and environmental management procedures to ensure compliance and high-quality service delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices in line with international best practice
Experience & skills
- Recognized degree in Data Science, Analytics, or Data Management related field (preferred)
- A minimum of 3 yearsâ experience in a supply chain and logistics operations field
- Proficiency with MS Office and supply chain/logistics systems
- Data Management/Data Science skills including data cleansing, aggregation, and report generation
- Power BI proficiency for dashboards and analytics
- Knowledge of database languages and Microsoft Access
- Ability to produce presentations using PowerPoint and graphics software
