Job description
The Process Flow Assurance Engineer Specialist role is positioned in Abu Dhabi within the oil and gas sector, focusing on the design, optimization, and oversight of chemical processes to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations. The position requires extensive expertise in developing and validating steady state process simulation models, conducting heat and mass balance for process systems, and performing steady state and transient hydraulic simulations covering single and multiphase flow to properly size production and injection pipelines. Key tasks include reviewing simulation outcomes to assess pressure drop, temperature profiles, and risks related to hydrate and wax formation. The specialist provides flow assurance support for offshore production systems, pipelines, and subsea networks while evaluating and implementing mitigation strategies for challenges such as slugging, asphaltene, scale, and sand. This role demands preparation of technical documentation including flow assurance reports, simulation summaries, and risk assessments, while ensuring that processes comply with safety standards and environmental regulations. The engineer must be adept in flow assurance software including OLGA, PIPESIM, and HYSYS, and familiar with ADNOC standards and offshore pipeline operations. With a minimum of 15 years of oil and gas industry experience, including at least 5 years in flow assurance engineering, the candidate must demonstrate strong understanding of multiphase flow behavior, pipeline hydraulics, technical reporting, troubleshooting of operational issues, and cross-disciplinary coordination. Operating under Wood’s global framework, the role integrates asset management, modifications, and engineering services while aligning with the Energy Transition Academy for exposure to emerging energy systems. Benefits include medical insurance, life and personal accident insurance, employee share plans, end of service gratuity, long service awards, and tailored professional development programs.
