Job description
HSBC Global Trade Solutions, part of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB), is seeking a Business Development Manager (Mandarin Speaker) to join its team in the UAE. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth and developing structured solutions across trade, supply chain, and receivable finance for a portfolio of corporates. The position involves expanding wallet share with existing clients, acquiring new clients, and delivering effective strategies that align with HSBC’s global trade finance proposition. The successful candidate must be fluent in both Mandarin and English, with strong knowledge of trade finance, structured products, and competitive markets.

Key responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth through working capital management products and services
- Retain wallet share from existing clients and increase penetration with group companies
- Develop strategies for acquiring new clients and generating income
- Identify new sales opportunities with new-to-bank or new-to-trade clients
- Collaborate with senior bankers, global relationship bankers, product teams, and sustainability leads to generate additional business
- Assess market opportunities, trends, and client requirements to ensure suitable GTS solutions are offered
- Work with client services and implementation teams to ensure efficient execution for complex clients
- Adhere to all internal policies and frameworks
Experience & skills
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English
- Strong knowledge of global trade finance and structured trade products
- Understanding of market trends and competitive environment
- Strong sales, interpersonal, communication, leadership, negotiation, analytical, presentation and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of credit and risk management, including risk mitigation techniques
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize under deadlines
- Graduation degree required for UAE Visa and Work Permit
