Job description
An established academic training institute in Dubai is hiring a Chemistry and Biology Teacher to work one-on-one and in small groups with students preparing for the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel AS/A Levels, IGCSE, GCSE, and AP. You will teach across all these curricula, moving between Standard Level and Higher Level IB content, Cambridge and Edexcel specifications, and AP syllabuses depending on which students are on your caseload. Lessons are built around each student's specific gaps, so you will design lesson plans, revision programmes, and examination strategies rather than delivering a single fixed syllabus. Mock examinations, topic tests, and past-paper sessions run under real examination conditions, and marking that work accurately, with detailed feedback and follow up lessons, is a core part of the job. Scientific inquiry, experimental investigations, and data analysis come up constantly, and explaining these concepts in ways that are clear without losing academic depth matters just as much as the marking. Parents and guardians expect regular updates, so communication about progress, targets, attendance, and upcoming assessments needs to be proactive rather than reactive. The working week runs Monday to Saturday, with longer weekday sessions and shorter Friday and Saturday hours, and Sunday off subject to business needs. New joiners complete an unpaid in-house training programme lasting three to seven days before moving onto the payroll at the Dubai centre, covering academic standards, teaching methodology, and examination practices.
