Job description
Eastern and Southern African markets are the territory for this Financial Institutions Relationship Manager at Mashreq, who builds the bank's FI business in the region from a full-time office base in the UAE. Decision-makers at regional FIs are the key relationships, and client strategies need to add value within the bank's risk appetite. Trade corridors between these markets and Mashreq booking locations matter a great deal, so strong links with importers, exporters and traders are essential. Opportunities span Trade, Cash Management, Treasury, Capital Markets and Sovereigns, worked through with product partners and Mashreq country teams. Asset growth and cross-sell drive the financial targets. Portfolio quality is protected through credit controls and periodic reviews in line with credit policy and local regulation, with audits expected to come back satisfactory. Within the Africa and Levant FI team, you lead by example on culture and values and guide colleagues, including the Credit Analysis team. Transaction write-ups, client memos and briefing notes need to be ready for C-Suite review, and the Regional Head relies on you for strategy presentations. Expect to bring at least 7 years of regional FI banking experience, team leadership, strong FI credit and legal knowledge, and ideally a postgraduate qualification.
