Job description
OQEP is building out this Lead Engineer Energy Performance role within Technical Services in Muscat, reporting to the Manager of Reliability Management and leading the development, implementation and maintenance of the Energy Management System (EnMS) across all operated assets. Energy reviews, optimization, business case feasibility and measurable cost savings sit at the core of the job, alongside decarbonization delivery tied to OQEP's broader asset performance and operational efficiency goals. You'll act as the EnMS Management Representative and focal point for the Energy Management Team, driving continuous improvement in energy performance across OQEP's operated assets. Periodic energy reviews get conducted and coordinated to identify Significant Energy Uses, performance gaps and enhancement opportunities, while Energy Performance Indicators and baselines get established, maintained and tracked against approved objectives and targets. Multidisciplinary teams get coordinated to deliver energy efficiency, decarbonization and optimization projects within approved scope, budget and schedule, working closely with Sustainability, Operations and discipline engineers along the way. The EnMS audit program runs through this role too, covering scheduling, auditor coordination, findings reporting and timely closure of corrective actions, alongside liaison with the energy certification body on surveillance audits and certification status. Digitalization initiatives tied to EnMS get led and managed, and mentoring and coaching extend to trainees and entry-level engineers building their EnMS practice knowledge. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process/Chemical or Energy Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and proven ISO 50001-compliant EnMS implementation and management experience.
